We recently welcomed the incredibly talented David O'Neill to our Pro Team, and we wanted to share some of the amazing work that he's done. Hailing from Belfast, David's work consists largely of traditional tattoo designs that are always clean, bright and bold. He works from and owns Bold Will Hold Tattoo, Belfast, which was established earlier this year in March. Shortly after, unfortunately the shop had to close it's doors due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, but earlier this week, tattoo studios in Northern Ireland were officially allowed to re-open, and David is back doing what he does best in his brand new studio.

Boris Johnson's latest update to the House of Commons on Tuesday 23rd June revealed the biggest easing of lockdown restrictions in the UK since the social distancing measures were originally put in place. A number of businesses including hairdressers, pubs, bars, and restaurants have been given the green light to re-open on the 4th July, provided they are Covid-secure. Although initially tattoo and piercing studios were classed in the same category as hair salons and barbers, they have been told that they must remain closed until further notice. This has came as a huge shock to the industry, who rightfully assumed that as they were categorised alongside hairdressers they'd be reopening from the 4th July too.

The Historic Dockyard in Chatham is home to some incredible displays, and their Spring 2020 instalment was set to be a great one. Tattoo: British Tattoo Art Revealed was installed at their Smithery gallery and was due to open in March, but unfortunately due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the Dockyard sadly had to close its doors to members of the public. The exhibition still remains,and although the public won't have the pleasure of viewing it in person, the Dockyard have gone out of their way to create a virtual version of the exhibition, which will allow people to arrange a virtual tour for themselves.

Although it's a trying time for the tattoo industry right now, incredible artwork is still being created by tattoo artists who are keeping themselves busy during the Covid-19 lockdown. In the form of paintings, digital prints, woodwork, and much more, there's a whole load of beautiful art being made at the moment, and today we wanted to take a look at some of the wonderful work created by our Supplied By artists.

The tattoo industry is facing some trying times at the moment, with the continued closure of tattoo studios and the prospect of artists being out of work until at least July due to Covid-19, it's a time of uncertainty and anxiety being felt by many. Tattoo artists are understandably worried about life after the lockdown, and are hopeful that businesses can continue safely, and in as normal manner as possible once shops reopen. Despite all of this, there's still a lot of high spirits within the tattoo community.
With a lot more time on their hands at the moment, artists have been finding ways to keep busy, by painting, drawing up designs for the future, and creating some incredible merchandise that their customers can purchase.
One thing we love about the tattoo industry, is the sheer amount of love and support that artists have shown to others during this time of crisis. We've seen tonnes of artists supporting artists by sharing and promoting each other's work on Instagram. Some are also helping out in their local communities and offering support to key-workers and to those who need it. We wanted to share some of the amazing things done by tattoo artists who are helping and supporting others.
