Ladislav Hacel who works from and owns Alone in the Dark Ink London has been one of our favourite artists for a long while, and we're constantly in awe of his magnificent realism tattoos. He’s an exceptionally talented artist with a very solid work ethic.
This weekend sees the return of the much anticipated Milano Tattoo Convention! One of the best tattoo conventions in Europe, this long-standing convention has been running for 23 years, and it only gets better and better! With an array of incredibly talented artists and top-flight entertainment in the form of live music and shows all in the heart of the beautiful city of Milan, what more could you ask of a tattoo convention? With a variety of international tattoo artists from Venezuela to South Korea, this convention is not to be missed!
At Magnum Tattoo Supplies, we have a lot of exceptionally talented tattoo artists on our sponsored artist pro team, each one with a unique and brilliant style, and today we wanted to talk about one of the artists who's really killing it in the tattoo industry at the moment. Ben Carlisle, who works at Devil in the Detail, Stoke-on-Trent has been one of our sponsored artists for almost a year now, and we're really glad to have joined forces with him! Ben specialises in hyper-realism, and the majority of his work is really colourful and detailed, and he has a knack for creating some incredible cartoon and Disney themed pieces. His work is literally breathtaking, aso we wanted to take a look at some of his more recent creations.
Disney is quite a popular theme for tattoos, and I think it's a great way for people to keep in touch with their youth! I've never had a Disney tattoo, and I don't think it's something I'd ever go for, but I absolutely love seeing them on other people, and given that there are so many amazing Disney films past and present, Disney themed tattoos are a lovely way for people to express their love for their favourite Disney movies - (my favourite Disney masterpiece has to be The Lion King!). So let's take a look at some of these beautiful Disney themed pieces!
Last weekend, the guys at Lord Nelson Tattoos in Chester held a Charity Dog Day to raise money for Merseyside Dogs Home. Every penny raised was donated to the dog’s home, who take in more stray dogs than any other rescue home on Merseyside. They’re the smallest dog’s home, but work most effectively to ensure that all the dogs there find their forever homes! They rely heavily on the support of the public to provide the dogs with the care and attention they need, and I think it’s amazing that these guys dedicated their time and efforts to such a good cause. Donations were also made in the form of dog food, which is a great help to Merseyside Dogs Home.
A topic of discussion that frequently tends to crop between my friends and I, is tattoos in the workplace. Now, I understand that depending on the industry you work in, tattoos will either be accepted, frowned upon, or just totally unacceptable. Certain workplaces don’t openly welcome or encourage body art, but because of the nature of the job, they can’t, and won’t discriminate against it, while others simply will not employ people based on their appearance. I recently read an article about a petition that’s been formed in Canada to make it illegal to discriminate against people with tattoos, and it really got me thinking about the tattoo discrimination that still takes place in the UK today.
