Anchor tattoos have always been a popular theme when it comes to tattooing. Originally anchors were known to symbolise stability, especially when worn by sailors at sea who spent most of their years away from land. The 22nd May 2018 marked one year on after the Manchester Arena terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert which claimed the lives of 22 innocent people. Following the attack in 2017, thousands of proud Mancunians flocked to tattoo studios around the North West to get a tattoo of the worker bee - a symbol that has always represented Manchester, and over the past year has became even more symbolic. The worker bee is now a tribute to the people who lost their lives. It symbolises community, courage, and resilience, and is recognised worldwide.
