Celebrating VE Day in the form of Tattoos - Buy Black and Grey Tattoo Ink online
Friday the 8th May marks 75 years since VE day, as the United Kingdom remembers the end of the war in Europe. On the 8th May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill announced on the radio at 3pm, that the war in Europe had came to an end. It was an emotional day for millions of people, so there were of course lots of celebrations in the form of street parties. Huge crowds of people dressed in red, white and blue gathered in the streets and outside Buckingham Palace to rejoice.
To this day, people celebrate VE day, and it's a special anniversary this year as it's been 75 years since the war ended. Bank Holiday, which is usually the 2nd Monday in May has been moved to Friday the 8th to mark the special date. Although the outbreak of coronavirus means that there won't be the usual street parties or parades, people can still celebrate within the comfort of their own home, and there is plenty that can be done to mark the day.
People often mark momentous events with a tattoo, and there we've seen some really poignant tattoos that pay homage to those who lost their lives in the war, and some other great tattoos that are reminiscent of the 1940s. We've rounded up some of our favourites, which are the perfect way to mark the event.
