The origins of Valentine's Day come from classic mythology. Cupid who was the God of desire, love and attraction was said to be the son of the love Goddess Venus, and God of War, Mars. Cupid is often depicted as a cherub, and it is believed that any two people who are shot by his arrow are filled with uncontrollable desire for each other.
