Glow in the Dark Tattoos - Kuro Sumi UV Glow Ink
For many people tattoos are a way of standing out from the crowd and expressing their creativity as an individual through the means of art. Colour tattoos are extremely popular, with a huge range of tattoo ink brands to choose from, with hundreds of beautiful colours available. Some people want to take their creativity to the next level, and opt for UV glow in the dark tattoos, which can be particularly eye-catching in the right light.
UV tattoos, (often known as black light tattoos), are tattoos that glow when viewed under a UV light bulb. Depending on the tattoo ink used, some of these UV tattoos will be completely visible in normal light (just like any other tattoo), and others are basically invisible until they're exposed to UV light.
Although in the past they've been quite popular, you don't tend to see as many glow in the dark tattoo inks around in the UK now. There is some debate as to the safety of the inks, and of course tattoo supplies companies and tattoo artists alike want to ensure the absolute well-being of their clients and customers.
Phosphorous is one of the main ingredients of UV inks, which may cause a reaction for some people. It's not currently FDA approved in a tattoo ink context, although it's found in many common household items, such as washing detergent, paper, and even some foods like potatoes. To be safe, we'd always recommend opting for a standard tattoo ink from trusted brands such as Radiant, Eternal, and Fusion ink. They may not glow in the dark, but their bright and bold colours will look just as eye-catching, and you can guarantee that they are safe to use.

Although UV ink isn't something we currently stock, we still thought it'd be cool to share these incredible tattoos that we came across that have been made by artists using glow in the dark inks. Some appear normal in daylight, and others are only visible in UV light!
