Kids Drawings as Tattoos... Cute or Crappy? | Wholesale Tattoo Ink
As more and more people get tattoos, there has been an increase in a number of parents who have tattoos, which is great! I've talked before about parents getting their children's names tattooed on them or perhaps a foot print or date of birth. Some parents are going one step further and they are getting artwork that their children have drawn as their tattoos! This is a really interesting idea and it seems like a really sweet way to pay tribute to your offsprings childhood, so that is what I'd like to talk about today. Here at MTS we sell wholesale tattoo ink and we love to think about how it is being put to use, so let us think about this latest idea.
How do you pick a single drawing?
If other children are anything like my son then they draw A LOT. I feel so guilty about the number of drawings I have to throw away just to stop my house overflowing with paper! My son has drawn lots of great pictures, although personally, I would never commit any of them to my skin. If I was to choose one I really don't know which one I would choose as he is so proud of every single one. So I suppose the logical thing to do would be to choose your own favourite and get that one, one that you feel really represents your child at that stage in his/her life so that you have it to look back on.
Kids "artwork"?
Ok so kids aren't the best at drawing, I'm sure there are some prodigy's out there but for the most part, they are still working on their fine motor skills and are learning every day. Some people might think "why would you want a child's scrawl on you forever when you could have sick dragon or something?", those people are entitled to their opinion but they probably aren't parents. Every picture your child draws is artwork to them and to you (even if you have to bin it) and having something that your child has created on you forever can mean a lot to someone.
What will the child think?
This is a bit silly but I wonder when parents get these tattoos if they think their kids will grow up glowing with pride that their parent decided to have a drawing, that they probably don't even remember making, inked on them forever. I think that definitely when the child grows into an adult they will be touched but I can imagine some angsty teenagers out there saying something like "ah mum/dad you are so embarrassing, put that thing away!" but that is just a part of life. Wouldn't it be awesome as well, if your child grew up to be an artist it would offer a whole new level of symbolism to the parent's tattoo.
What do you think? Would you get your or even someone else's child's artwork tattooed on you? Do you think it is a good idea or a bad one? Let us know in the comments! Remember if you are a tattoo artist looking to buy tattoo ink here at Magnum Tattoo Supplies we see wholesale tattoo ink in our stores so check that out!
