One year on - The Manchester Bee appeal and Ariana Grande's new tribute tattoo | Anchored Stencil Solution

RSS
The 22nd May 2018 marked one year on after the Manchester Arena terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert which claimed the lives of 22 innocent people.  Following the attack in 2017, thousands of proud Mancunians flocked to tattoo studios around the North West to get a tattoo of the worker bee - a symbol that has always represented Manchester, and over the past year has became even more symbolic.  The worker bee is now a tribute to the people who lost their lives.  It symbolises community, courage, and resilience, and is recognised worldwide.

Tonnes of tattoo studios got involved, with many of them holding special events in order to raise money for the victims and their families, with tattoo artists raising thousands and thousands of pounds for charity.  It's so powerful and amazing how such a tragic event can bring so many people together to stand in solidarity and show their resilience and community spirit.  It's also lovely to see just how many people are now sporting the worker bee tattoo with such pride and love for their city and the people within it.

Ariana Grande showcased her Manchester bee tattoo on Instagram following the first anniversary of the tragedy, with millions of adoring fans showing love for the singer and her tribute to the victims of the attack.  She also had a bee tattooed on her arm last year in the weeks after the tragic event.
The lovely team over at Alchemy Tattoo in Wigan worked tirelessly producing over 100 tattoos in the space of a day so that they could raise money for the victims and their families.  Although they asked for donations of just £22 - £1 for each of the people who died at the attack, tonnes of people happily donated much more than this, enabling the tattooists to raise thousands for the cause.
Just some of the Manchester worker bee tribute tattoos that the team at Alchemy Tattoo produced on the day of the Manchester Bee Appeal.
It is truly heart-warming that a community can come together and stand proudly, supporting one and other in a time of crisis, and we'll forever remember the 22 victims of the attack.
We'd love to hear from you if you have a Manchester worker bee tattoo, so please leave us a comment below if you'd like to show us.  If you're a tattoo artist, then don't forget, you can get hold of Nikko Hurtado's Anchored Stencil Solution at our online store if you're looking for the best stencil transfer cream on the market.
