We stock high-quality needles and tattoo needle cartridges in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet all your lining and shading needs. There are four main factors that affect the choice of tattoo needle: its diameter, count, taper and configuration.
The needle's diameter is its physical width. The most common needle sizes are #6, #8, #10 and #12. Of these, #12 is the largest and one of the most popular sizes at 0.35mm. However, most people opt for a #10 for their line work to achieve the best results.
The count is the total number of needles soldered together on the bar, most commonly 3, 5, 7 or 9.
The taper refers to the length of the needle point. It is generally around 2mm but can be longer or shorter depending on the manufacturer. Each artist has their own preferred needle diameter and taper length, so we try to make sure we always sell the most popular arrangements.
The configuration refers to the shape the needle makes when grouped together. There are six possible configurations: round liners (RL), round shaders (RS), flat needles (F), and magnums in weaved arrangements (M1), stacked patterns (M2) or round magnums (RM).
