Everyone knows that tattoos hurt but where hurts the most is a topic of much debate. Thanks to shows like Ink Master we know where is generally painful such as ribs or the top of the feet. As I have said many times everyone experiences pain differently and at different times, remember my story about how one of the tattoos on my chest was borderline unbearable but the same place on the other side was fine? I came across an article recently in The Guardian written by a mother who was heartbroken about her son getting a tattoo. This got me thinking, I understand that there are still people out there who don’t approve or like tattoos, but I still find it difficult to comprehend. Now as I have said before my mum wasn’t exactly a fan of tattoos when I first started getting them, she has since changed her attitude after learning more about them and now has tattoos herself. There were a few things that stood out to me in this article, some things that the mother said that I wanted to talk about, something that the son I think could have done differently and attitudes to tattoos from our parents. “What do your parents think?” is such a common question for heavily tattooed people so let’s take that apart a little bit. We talk about new tattoo care here but what about the people they care about and their impressions of our tattoos?
