Many tattoo artists and tattoo customer alike are choosing a medical adhesive style dressing over the traditional balm, lotion or cream to protect their new tattoo art with.  There are of course tonnes of great tattoo aftercare products out there, and for most people it comes down to personal preference and awareness of the available products, but we’ve definitely seen a rise in popularity when it comes to covering tattoos with a protective tattoo film.

We recently began stocking YAYO Guard, from the innovators at YAYO Familia. The YAYO Guard is a protective tattoo healing film which acts as a second skin to provide a barrier between your new tattoo and outside germs and bacteria. It is waterproof but permeable on the inside to allow your skin to naturally perspire and the film uses a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive and is made of polyurethane.

YAYO Guard works by locking in your the natural healing fluids to allow a healing process that begins from the inside, working out.
Any type of wound will heal a lot faster if it’s kept moist, as this prevents dryness and scabbing which inevitably prolongs the healing period.  The great thing about YAYO Guard is that unlike tattoo creams, you don’t need to keep reapplying this throughout the day to prevent it drying. Just leave it on, and you’re good to go!

All of the above features are quite crucial when it comes to looking after new tattoos, and the YAYO branding is particularly eye-catching and a great look for a tattoo related product, so we can see why many people are opting for this as their aftercare product of choice.  When we first started stocking YAYO Guard just a couple of months back, it quickly sold out, and again, our next order of the product sold out within weeks. We’ve heard brilliant feedback from all of our customers about this product, and we’re sure we’ll be selling an awful lot more of it in the future!

YAYO also do a brilliant range of aftercare butters and tattoo process butters in a variety of gorgeous scents that range from fruity to menthol, and everything inbetween.  The process butter has been a huge hit with tattoo artists and is a brilliant alternative to petroleum jelly, enriching the skin in nutrients and keeping it soft and nourished throughout the whole tattoo process.

Why not check out the YAYO Familia tattoo range, and get hold of the YAYO Guard today? It comes in a handy roll of 15cm x 10m, so will cover tonnes of tattoos.  Let us know what you think!
