As New Year’s Eve approaches, I wanted to have a little look at some beautiful Big Ben tattoos. Standing tall at the north end of the Tower of Westminster, Big Ben is one of the UK’s most famous landmarks which is especially celebrated on New Year’s Eve, when crowds of people stand to watch the spectacular firework display across the River Thames whilst listening to the Chimes of the Great Bells at midnight, ringing in the new year.
Disney is quite a popular theme for tattoos, and I think it's a great way for people to keep in touch with their youth! I've never had a Disney tattoo, and I don't think it's something I'd ever go for, but I absolutely love seeing them on other people, and given that there are so many amazing Disney films past and present, Disney themed tattoos are a lovely way for people to express their love for their favourite Disney movies - (my favourite Disney masterpiece has to be The Lion King!). I’ve always wanted a backpiece. I think they look really cool, and given that the back is a large surface area, there’s so many brilliant concepts that you could have when it comes to content but I honestly don’t think I could endure multiple sessions of pain. It’d definitely take a lot of bactine tattoo spray to convince me to get one, so for the time being I’m happy to admire some brilliant back pieces instead!

Now I don’t mind the odd innocent question when people are genuinely interested in my tattoos and have harmless queries about them. That’s absolutely fine. However, I’ve found since getting quite a lot of visible tattoos, that I’m sometimes faced with strange questions that I’ve either found to be annoying, intrusive, or just downright offensive.
Tattoo trends come and go, but one of my favourite trends at the moment (one that’s been around for a while but seems to have become a lot more prevalent over the past few years) is Mandala tattoos. Mandalas are spiritual figures that represent the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. It’s a beautiful metaphysical representation of the cosmos, so it’s not surprising that given its spiritual meaning and aesthetically pleasing symmetrical qualities it’s became a really popular subject for tattooing.
We all know the importance of taking care of our tattoos, but what about piercings? Although the piercing process is relatively quick, and the pain tends to be over within seconds, a piercing is still technically a trauma to the body – and after this, a foreign body is inserted into the skin, so it’s no surprise that we need to treat piercings with the utmost care, especially during the healing process.
